About Us
Hayman's Maps produce up to date and reliable tourist and adventure maps. Maps are extensively field checked using a Garmin GPS and then produced using a mapping program, MapInfo. We are a small business that specializes in tourist, 4wd and bushwalking maps.
Maps are colour large (approx. 100cm x 70cm), doubled sided with photos and text. All maps come folded and are easy to read and use.
The maps are produced primarily at 1:50 000 or 1:100 000 scale have large text and are easy to read and navigate with. Some maps and insets of areas are produced at larger scales. Some maps are topographical depending on the topography of the region.
Hayman's Maps evolved as a need was identified in some regional areas for up to date and reliable maps of the region. The first map produced was the Barmah - Shepparton - Denilquin Adventure Map. This area was particularly in need of an up to date map for the region as previous maps had become outdated. The map filled a shortfall in the market and has sold very well. The Cohuna - Echuca - Gunbower Forest Activities Map was the next map produced and it complements the Barmah Map. The two maps combined provide continuous Murrray River coverage from Tocumwal in the east to Murrabit (near Barham) in the west.
The next map produced was the Daylesford - Castlemaine - Ballarat Forest Activities Map. This map was produced as a need was identified for an accurate and reliable map of the forests surrounding Daylesford and Castlemaine. This map follows the Midland Highway from Ballarat to north of Castlemaine. The map has proved very popular and is the most popular map for the forests surrounding Daylesford and Castlemaine.
The latest map to be produced is the Byron Bay - Wollumbin Mt Warning - Adventure Map. This map in many ways represents the culmination of many years of living, studying and exploring this region. The map was produced as there was an identified need for an up to date map of the region, particularly within the many forested areas. The map provides a comprehensive and much needed coverage of the region surrounding Byron Bay and the hinterland.
Hayman's Maps include many environmental features. Manager of Hayman's Maps Alison Hayman has a PhD and a Masters in Environmental Management which is reflected in the content of many of the maps.
